Some children benefit from working in groups.
It encourages their confidence as they make friends and is sometimes more fun as they feel they are working in a band situation. It is also more affordable for the parent at only Ł5 for 45 minute lesson.

At the moment we have a group class running in Corstorphine at the Parish church and it runs after the Kids Rock class, starting a 4.45 until 5.30. At the moment that class has started and is full however if interested int this please get in touch so that we can arrange another class in any area.

We can be booked for as many days in your school as you require. We take each class in turn and teach them how to read music and the value of rhythm. We will include any subjects you are currently working on in school and we pride ourselves in working within a schools budget.

During our sessions we aim to cover every element of Key Stages 1 and 2 music. As well as making this fun for the children (and staff!), we aim to help the school achieve targets in areas needing specialist advice. We can link Kids Rock to other areas of the curriculum, such as literacy, numeracy and art. For example in one school, they needed specialist help with composition to enable them to fulfill OFSTED requirements.

The curriculum requirements for primary schools are performance, composing, listening and appraising. In some primary schools there isn't a budget to hire specialist music teachers to to meet these needs and therefore pressure is put onto any teachers who have a basic knowledge of music to fulfill the role of music specialist. This is unfair to teachers who are already under a lot of pressure within their own subject. Even schools who have excellent music facilities can use Kids Rock, we can provide a different musical experience for pupils.
