For younger childredn (P1 and P2) we use nursery rhymes or songs from their favourite DVD.
For older children (P3 to P7) we use songs from musicals or suitable pop songs.
At the Kids Rock Academy all songs will be selected as suitable for class age.
With these songs Kids Rock teach children the basics of music, including note reading and rhythm and chord structures.
They will also learn about various instruments and be encouraged to perform with them, giving them new skills and a real sense of
achievement. It is an important aspect of Kids Rock however, to achieve all of this whilst having fun!
Every class will be taught by co-ordinators who have enhanced disclosure checks and relevant qualifications and training.
The instruments used in an average class are guitars, keyboards, violins, drums and percussion. We also encourage the
children to bring along any instrument they are learning outwith Kids Rock.

About
Kids
Rock UK
Kids Rock UK is not a franchise and was established in 2007.
Children of all ages participate in Kids Rock. The idea generated from a conversation with a parent whose child, (aged 9) was
having private singing lessons. She felt music in schools was very general and didn't encourage her child to express herself, but the
private lessons were too complicated as they were based around classical techniques which her daughter struggled to comprehend.
We are always surrounded by music, regardless of style. We think every child should be encouraged to sing, dance and make music.
Music seems to be disappearing further down the curriculum and we want to make sure that schools and parents have different musical options. We have experienced that Kids Rock not only gives children a chance to play music but the also learn to express themselves, they gain confidence, learn to work with others or on their own and as a result, one of the areas they use these new found skills is on the end of term performances.. These life skills are beneficial whatever career path they later opt for.
