Kids Rock UK and Sing in the City are not franchises.  Kids Rock was established in 2007 and is based in Edinburgh.  We cater for children aged from nursery age to teenage but also do tuition and group classes for adults.

 

The idea generated from a conversation with a parent whose child, (aged 9) was having private singing lessons.

She felt music in schools was very general and didn't encourage her child to express herself, but the
private lessons were too complicated as they were based around classical techniques which her daughter struggled to comprehend.  So we pride ourselves on providing fun and affordable tuition for parents and schools.

Everyone is surrounded by music, regardless of genre. We think every child should be encouraged to sing, dance and learn an instrument.  Music seems to be disappearing further down the curriculum and we want to make sure that schools and parents have different musical options. We have experienced that Kids Rock not only gives children a chance to play music but they also learn to express themselves in different ways.  They gain confidence, learn to work better with others and as a result, one of the areas they use these new found skills is at the end of year performances.
